Potassium butyl xanthate is a light gray to yellowish-green powder with a specific odor, highly soluble in water. Decomposes in the presence of moisture, especially at temperatures above 30°C.
It is used as a collecting reagent in the enrichment of non-ferrous and rare metal ores by flotation and in the hydrometallurgical industry. Not used in medicine or veterinary medicine. It is not a poisonous, narcotic or psychotropic substance. Not used for drinking water supply

Potassium butyl xanthate is transported by all types of transport. By rail, products are transported by carload or in small shipments in covered wagons or in universal containers. By air, the product is transported only on cargo ships with a net weight of one package of no more than 100 kg. The product, packed in drums, is transported on a hard floor between tiers. Potassium butyl xanthate, packaged in soft specialized containers, is transported if the consignor (consignee) has specialized lifting devices and loading (unloading) is carried out on the access roads of the enterprise. Potassium butyl xanthate is stored in the manufacturer's packaging in closed, cool, ventilated warehouses. Racks/stacks are located at a distance of half a meter from walls and heating appliances.
