Ammonium nitrate grade “B” (NH4NO3) is a highly effective mineral fertilizer containing at least 34.4% nitrogen. Molecular weight according to international atomic masses in 1971 – 80.043. Ammonium nitrate grade “B” is produced using conditioning additives containing calcium, magnesium, sulfate or sulfate in combination with phosphate. Ammonium nitrate grade “B” is characterized by increased granule strength, good friability, fluidity, stable granulometric composition, and does not cake during storage.

Ammonium nitrate grade B is a universal fertilizer because it contains part of the nitrogen in the nitrate form and part in the ammonium form.The nitrate form easily moves with soil moisture to the roots, becoming available for absorption by plants. The ammonium part, in turn, is absorbed by the root system, or is gradually converted into nitrates by processing by soil microorganisms. The fertilizer is also unique in that it has the ability to provide the plant with a readily available form of nitrate nitrogen, which, as a rule, is absorbed instantly. Ammonium nitrate is usually mixed with other fertilizers, but these mixtures cannot be stored in a single container for a long time due to the tendency of fertilizer absorb moisture from the air.The very high solubility of ammonium nitrate allows it to combine well with any fertigation or foliar spray solution.

Ammonium nitrate is an oxidizing agent and is a fire hazard. Nitrate is transported by all modes of transport, except air, in accordance with the rules for the transportation of dangerous goods in force for this type of transport. Ammonium nitrate is stored in bulk in warehouses with controlled temperature (no more than 30ºC) and air humidity (no more than 50%). The product packaged in polyethylene and polypropylene containers is stored in covered, dry and clean warehouses that protect the product from moisture. Storing saltpeter with organic substances, reducing agents, oxidizing agents and fuel and lubricating oils, as well as using open fire indoors, is not allowed.
